The Wolf and the Wildflower is a home for me to share my experiences as I explore and learn about creative practices like interior design, calligraphy, floral design, hand lettering, and graphic design. It’s also serving as a platform for me to showcase the makers, craftsmen, artists, and entrepreneurs that make up the creative industry in southern California and beyond.
My dad had once said how there are just so many things we could do in life, so many places to travel to, but simply not enough time to do it all. That got me thinking, if we have so little time, I should value it. With so many things to do, I might as well do something that means something to me. I explored wedding photography for about 4 years, and still enjoy it. There’s something so special about having the privilege of documenting someone’s wedding day, not many people get that chance. However, after discovering the art of calligraphy and being introduced to design through my husband, I knew there were so many creative channels I needed to explore. That’s where the idea was born for this website.
Whatever it may be that gets your engine running, do it, and do it with all you’ve got. Whether it’s opening a jewelry shop, fixing cars, raising a family, planting trees, caring for the sick, or designing web sites, do it to the best of your ability. And pursue what makes sense to you, because if we’d all pursue the same things in life we’d have one very monotonous world.
So that is exactly what I’m doing right here, with this website. I’m pursuing and exploring what I love to do, and doing it with all my might.
