For those of you curious about what tools I use on a daily basis now that I’m in school, this post is for you. This post is also for all those stationary lovers out there! Before my semester started, I wanted to make a game plan to help me stay organized and on task. I forget things easily, so it’s important for me to keep track of my assignments and projects if I have any hope of getting things in on time.
I use my Appointed Co planner for tracking my schedule and projects. They also have these incredibly helpful inserts that I use for project planning and list making.
My small brown notebook from A Dutch Life is used to take notes during class. I know it’s 2017 and people take notes on their phones/computers, but I don’t retain anything that way. I use a blank notebook to jot down thoughts, reminders, and visual concepts.
The large black sketchbook is used for all my drawings. That’s where concepts are born, thought out, and refined. You’d be surprised to hear that I use my sketchbook much more than my laptop (it probably helps that I’m not an English student writing a billion essays). Good, thought out sketches save a ton of computer time, which my strained eyes are thankful for.
My pencil case is filled with a variety of fine tip markers from Faber & Castell and Micron and my absolute favourite pencils are the Blackwing pencils from Palomino. The unique eraser design is a game changer. They are so worth the investment and make my sketching process so much easier.
